The Greatest Dancer’s Cheryl, Oti Mabuse and Matthew Morrison have revealed throwbacks to their youth.
The trio of Dance Captains make up the panel for BBC One’s new dance talent contest, The Greatest Dancer.
Over the past four weeks they’ve been overseeing a range of acts of all dance styles and genres who are competing to win a £50,000 prize and the chance to perform on Strictly Come Dancing.
And in Saturday’s latest episode, they shared memories from their very own first dance competition.
In a break from filming auditions, they discussed their first dance memory and how they first started dancing.
Cheryl said: “My first dance competition was ballet, I was never a competitive child I just wanted to dance.”
Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse shared: “My first dance memory was me winning the South African championships, I was 11…and the feeling I still remember, I even remember the songs.”
Matthew Morrison added: “I first started dancing with my mates at school, we would put down cardboard and start breakdancing and teach each other moves.
“Now as an adult I call it ‘broke’ dancing because every time I do it, I’m like ohhhh… man, what did I do.”
