The Great British Bake Off Christmas contestants

The Great British Bake Off returns to Channel 4 tonight for a Christmas special.

This festive season there will be two special episodes from the Bake Off tent.

Tonight, Sandi Toksvig, Noel Fielding, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith are back in the tent for their traditional Christmas get-together in The Great Christmas Bake Off.

Also invited to the celebrations are four former Bake Off contestants, competing to be crowned the Christmas star baker.

Back to bake are Liam and Flo from 2017’s Bake Off and Jane and Andrew from 2016, all ready to do battle in the festive fight for the title of Christmas Star Baker.

And they’ll be joined by British rockers The Darkness, who perform their smash hit Christmas Time (Don’t Let the Bells End).

The Great Christmas Bake off airs at 8PM tonight, December 25, on Channel 4.

A New Year’s day special will also follow, airing on January 1 at 7:40PM.

The Great New Year’s Bake Off sees Noel Fielding, Sandi Toksvig, Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood recover from Christmas and reunite in the tent.

This time, they’ll be joined by Kate Henry from the 2014 series of The Great British Bake Off, Dr Tamal from 2015, 2016 winner Candice, and finalist Steven from 2017, all hoping to impress the judges with their skills and creativity and take home the coveted title of Festive Star Baker.

Together they’ll see in the New Year with Britain’s biggest boyband, The London Gay Men’s Chorus.

The two Bake Off episodes are part of Channel 4’s special Christmas programming.

Other highlights include the Big Fat Quiz Of The Year 2018 air date and line up confirmed2018 Big Fat Quiz Of The Year[/a which will air boxing day, December 26 at 9PM.

To celebrate the dawn of another year, Jimmy Carr puts a panel of top celebrity teams to test as he presents his big, fat and fiendishly difficult quiz. As always, Jimmy will be ably assisted by a panel of top celebrity teams and a series of superstar question setters including Mitchell Brook Primary School and Jon Snow.
