The Apprentice candidates welcome baby after meeting on the show

Two of The Apprentice candidates from last year’s series have welcomed a child together.

Michaela Wain and Harrison Jones both appeared on the 2017 series of the BBC One business show.

Harrison made it to week 10 of the competition while Michaela was fired by Lord Sugar in the penultimate episode.

Michaela announced earlier this year she was “very happy” to be welcoming what will be her second child.

This week, she confirmed the arrival of new son Grayson George Jones.

She posted on social media: “It’s been a tough ride but I’m super happy to say Grayson George Jones arrives 23/10/18 weighing 7lb2 and looking like a heart breaker. “Absolutely in love. And a huge big massive thank you to his amazing dad @harrisonjones89 who was the best birthing partner ever. Officially the most chilled guy on the planet.”

Harrison added: “Grayson George Edward Jones has arrived ?? And on my mums 60th birthday too! What a present ??❤️.”

Those offering their congratulations included The Apprentice advisor Claude Littner, who tweeted: “Massive congratulations Michaela and Harrison. Please get as much rest as possible Harrison! So happy for you both.”

It’s understood that Michaela and Harrison only got together after The Apprentice had wrapped up filming.

“There was always a connection between them but they tried to resist their urges during filming,” a source said back in January. “They’re now in a fully-fledged relationship and have been spending a lot of time together.

“Michaela was keen to publicly announce their romance but Harrison was more reserved about the idea. They are smitten with each other though.”

Couples on The Apprentice are nothing new with a number of past relationships playing out on the show.

2016 saw Jessica Cunningham and Courtney Wood confirm a romance – however it didn’t last for long.

In 2014 James Hill and Lauren Riley supposedly got together while 2013 saw rumours that Jordan Poulton and Luisa Zissman had hooked up while on the show.

And in 2009 there was an epic boardroom battle when Phillip Taylor and Kate Walsh’s relationship was brought up in front of Lord Sugar after the pair’s team failed a task.

The Apprentice’s new series currently airs Wednesday nights on BBC One.
