Lord Sugar fired another candidate in The Apprentice 2018 results tonight – but who this week?
This evening’s episode saw Rick Monk become the fifth candidate to be fired from the BBC One business show.
Tonight was Week Five and Lord Sugar summoned the candidates to London’s Adelphi Theatre, home to hit musical ‘Kinky Boots’.
Hot on their heels was Lord Sugar with a challenge for them to put their best foot forward in the world of ladies’ shoe design.
The candidates had to create and market a brand-new shoe, along with putting together an event to launch and sell their product to major industry players.
Before setting the task, Lord Sugar mixed up the teams before they picked project managers.
Kayode Damali, Kurran Pooni, Rick Monk, Sarah Ann Magson, Jackie Fast and Jasmine Kundra made up Team Collaborative led by Jackie.
Camilla Ainsworth, Khadija Kalifa, Sabrina Stocker, Sian Gabbidon, Tom Bunday, Alex Finn and Daniel Elahi were Team Typhoon, led by Sian.
On the first day candidates had to design and name their shoes. Designing a carnival trainer caused confusion on Team Typhoon while on the other side on Team Collaborative an idea for an urban high heel drove a wedge between the candidates.
On day two, spiky consumer feedback left the high-heeled team on shaky ground. While consumer comments on the trainer side were equally uncomfortable and piled on the pressure for their launch events and product pitches.
On Team Typhoon a PM decision to disregard the pricing strategy left the sub team seething. While on the other team the candidates were involved in a very public spat over sales.
Back in the boardroom and before Lord Sugar, the sales from the candidates were totalled.
The Apprentice 2018 results
Team Typhoon sold a total of £86,603 worth of their shoe.
Team Collaborative sold a total of £61,600 worth of stock.
On the losing team, project manager Jackie originally brought Kayode and Kurran back to the boardroom.
But Lord Sugar overruled her decision, instead bringing all the candidates back where it was Rick who was fired.
The Apprentice 2018 continues next Wednesday night at 9PM on BBC One.
