Strictly Come Dancing: Mollie King’s past X Factor auditions revealed

Strictly Come Dancing’s Mollie King previously auditioned for The X Factor – twice.

Before the popstar made it big in girl group The Saturdays, she tried her luck on the ITV series.

Originally, Mollie auditioned for Sharon Osbourne, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh in 2005 as a soloist, singing Etta James’ I Just Wanna Make Love To You.

However Sharon told her: “I think you’re dressed totally inappropriately.”

But Simon quipped: “Well that didn’t bother me too much.”

After getting a no, Mollie returned the next year as part of a girl group called Fallen Angelz.

While they did make it a step further by getting to bootcamp, Mollie was still eventually sent home.

Mollie then went on to become a member of The Saturdays who were together for seven years between 2007 and 2014 before going on hiatus.

Now the blonde beauty is a part of the Strictly cast, dancing with pro partner AJ Pritchard.

The pair are said to have grown close – and AJ has done little to deny there’s chemistry between them.

Asked if they were a couple outside of the ballroom, he told the Daily Star newspaper: “That question will have to stay on everyone’s lips! But she is gorgeous and has the sexiest bum on the show.

“Time flies when we are together. We are always laughing.”

Last night the pair performed a Viennese Waltz, prompting Shirley to comment: “It was romantic with VERY believable chemistry!”

“We are spending so much time together. We are training eight hours a day – our bond can only get stronger,” AJ explained. “It was such a relief to get Mollie as it’s not good if you don’t get along with your partner.
