Strictly Come Dancing results and spoilers: Debbie McGee tops scores but who’s going home?

Here’s a spoiler-filled recap of tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing 2017 ahead of the results.

Debbie McGee and Giovanni Pernice topped the scoreboard this week after scoring 34 points, giving them a total of 64 points from the first week.

However Debbie didn’t get the highest score of the night with Alexandra Burke the stand out, scoring a near perfect 36 points for her Paso Doble.

All four of the judges got on their feet – yes, even Craig Revel Horwood – to praise the routine, which left Alex with a total of 60 points from the first two weeks.

Last week’s scoreboard leader Aston Merrygold also did well again, scoring 32 points for his Salsa for a total of 63 across his opening two routines.

At the bottom end was Richard Coles and Charlotte Hawkins.

Richard’s ‘dodgy’ American Smooth scored him 17 points – matching last week’s score – for a total of 34 points from the first two weeks.

Charlotte meanwhile had a complete “dance disaster” as she and pro partner Brendan Cole danced the Cha Cha to Sugar by Maroon 5.

But Charlotte made a mistake early on and it led to “a few stumbles”, to quote Brendan.

The judges didn’t hold back with their criticisms with Bruno Tonioli saying to Brendan: “You were dragging her from pillar to post, you were nearly sweeping the floor with her.”

And Craig said: “A complete dance disaster darling but at least there’s a positive, at least you won’t have to do that dance again.”

When it came to the scores, Craig awarded just 2, Darcey gave 4, Shirley awarded 3 and Bruno gave 3 for a total of 12 points, added to her score of 22 from last week for 34 points.

The total judges’ marks from the past two weeks will now be combined with the results from the first public vote tonight.

The two celebrity couples in the bottom two of the overall rankings will find themselves having to dance again in tomorrow night’s (Sunday) results show.
