Celebrity Island spoilers: Stars ‘quit Bear Grylls show days into filming’

A number of stars are said to have quit the Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls half-way through filming.

In aid of charity for Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign, the Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls sees a number of celebs dropped on an inhabited island.

Alongside a team of camera crew – who are living in just the same conditions – the celebs arrive with just the clothes they’re wearing and a handful of basic tools in order to survive four weeks.

The group includes Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated actor, Eric Roberts, actor and musician, Martin Kemp, double Olympic gold medal rower, James Cracknell and Olympic boxer, Anthony Ogogo.

Joining them on the celebrity cast are TOWIE star, Pete Wicks, model and TV personality, Jo Wood, Love Island star Montana Brown, actress and radio broadcaster, Roxanne Pallett, journalist, presenter and transgender activist Paris Lees and TV doctor, Dr Saleyha Ahsan.

But The Sun reports that Montana, Roxanne and Paris have all left the show.

“Bosses have lost a large chunk of their cast, which include a lot of the younger stars,” a source told the tabloid this week.

Speaking about Montana’s early exit in particular, an insider explained: “Montana has walked off the show, she’s had enough. It’s the toughest reality show out there and she was up against some incredibly difficult challenges, and she eventually decided she just couldn’t hack it, it was too hard for her, so she walked.”

They added: “They tried to persuade her to stay but her mind was made up, once she decided the show was too tough for her she knew there was no point staying.”

The celebs would be far from the first celeb to quit The Island.

JLS singer Aston Merrygold and rugby player Thom Evans both left the first series while in season two, swimmer Sharron Davies, Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte, Rizzle Kicks member Jordan Stephens, and comedian Mark Watson all asked to be rescued.

As yet an air date for 2018’s Celebrity Island hasn’t been confirmed but the show typically airs in the autumn on Channel 4.

The Celebrity Island airs Sunday nights at 9PM on Channel 4.
