Sink or Swim is the brand new celebrity challenge show airing on Channel 4.
The new series sees non-swimming celebrities take to the water in support of Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C).
They’ll team up with a group of leading figures and professionals from the world of swimming who will offer vital training and support to transform them into strong swimmers, capable of taking on a series of challenges.
The ultimate goal for the group is a relay swim across the channel between England and France in the final episode.
Sink or Swim celebrities
The celebrities taking part in the show include Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie and Coronation Street star Sair Khan.
They’re joined by The Last Leg’s Alex Brooker, TOWIE stars James ‘Arg’ Argent and Georgia Kousoulou, Blue singer Simon Webbe, Love Island’s Wes Nelson and Hollyoaks actress Rachel Adedeji.
Completing the line up are television presenter Diane Louise Jordan and Linford Christie’s fellow Olympic gold medallists, Tessa Sanderson and Greg Rutherford.
Arg said of taking part: “It’s been extremely tough, but every single week I’m improving, we all are, and we’re swimming further and further. I’m quite lucky because while I’m a big guy, I’ve got really good buoyancy levels, I float really easy in the water, so I don’t really have to worry about drowning. It’s easy to float!”
Wes added of the ultimate challenge: “It’s not the distance I’m worried about, being out in the open sea, fingers crossed it will all be okay.”
Meanwhile, the experts helping them out include Olympic silver medallist Keri-anne Payne and adventurer Ross Edgley (best known for being the first person in history to swim around Great Britain), with support from Paralympic champion Ellie Simmonds.
Sink or Swim air date
Sink or Swim airs on Tuesday nights at 9:15PM on Channel 4, straight after the new series of The Great British Bake Off.

The series will air for four episodes, helping to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer, a joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 which has to date raised over £62 million for research into cancer which will accelerate new cancer treatments to UK patients and save more lives.
Steven Handley, Commissioning Editor for Entertainment at Channel 4 said: “Sink or Swim promises to be one of the most perilous Stand Up To Cancer Celebrity Challenges we have ever attempted.
“It will push the boundaries of what Celebrities will endure and overcome to raise money and awareness for charity and we are delighted to be working with TwoFour on this ambitious project.”
