RuPaul Charles hosts a Celebrity spin-off of ITV daytime game show Lingo.
Celebrity Lingo airs in primetime on ITV while the regular daytime series continues, hosted by Adil Ray.
ITV share: “It’s the word guessing game that’s got the whole nation on tenterhooks, and now audiences are about to get double the fun, as Lingo returns for an extended daytime run, and launches its very own primetime spin off, Celebrity Lingo.
“Hosted by inimitable Emmy award-winning US entertainer RuPaul Charles, Celebrity Lingo will see famous faces go head-to-head in the fast-paced word play game, as they vie to fill in the blanks and find the missing words.”
Celebrity Lingo will be back on ITV1 tonight (15 July) with a repeat episode at 5PM.
Taking part in episode are Michelle Visage and Vernon Kay, Dr Ranj Singh and Jenny Ryan, and Axel Blake and Ellie Taylor.
RuPaul Charles said of hosting the new Celebrity spin-off: “I’m so excited to be hosting the Celebrity version of ITV’s Lingo because I love playing games and I love when people are open enough to be foolish, and to put themselves out on the line. It’s a party for me!
“If I weren’t playing Lingo in front of a camera, I’d be playing at my house so why not do it here in Manchester for ITV.”
RuPaul continued: “I love games, always have. I love wordplay. I love opportunities for people to really come out of their shell and exercise their intellectual DNA and intuition. I stress those two elements because those are key in playing a game and winning a game, and Lingo is just perfect for both of those things.
“When I play Lingo I use my instinct. You have to have lived long enough on this planet to learn how to trust your instinct and I do, so I’m actually quite good at word games!”
Meanwhile, Adil said of returning with new episodes of the daytime series: “I’m so grateful to everyone watching at home, the entire crew and our fab contestants for giving me another chance to host one of the best shows on TV!
“Even to those who shout four letter Lingos at me in the street! Welcome to the team RuPaul!”
