RATINGS! Rugby World Cup final becomes most watched TV moment of 2019

ITV’s coverage of the 2019 Rugby World Cup final on Saturday peaked with almost 13 million viewers.

The conclusion of the tournament saw England face South Africa for the title in Japan on November 2.

ITV has revealed that their showing of Rugby World Cup Final reached an audience peak of 12.8 million viewers, making it the most watched TV moment of 2019 on any channel.

It’s also the biggest audience for a rugby match since the 2007 Rugby World Cup Final, which was also between England and South Africa.

4 out of 5 people watching TV on Saturday morning were watching the game in Yokohama, with an average audience of 9 million viewers across the broadcast.
