The ITV soap's hour long special interested 5.2 million viewers between 7PM and 8PM.
After, The Voice Kids continued to fluctuate, dropping back to a series low from its series high the night before. 2.7 million watched the first round of battles. The episode was 600,000 viewers up on Wednesday's instalment.
This year the series will air nightly throughout the week on ITV, continuing tonight at 8PM with the semi-final rounds. The live final airs this coming Saturday, July 21 from 8PM.
Following The Voice Kids, new series My Shirley Valentine launched to 1.9 million viewers on ITV.
Across on BBC One and EastEnders was the most watched TV show, securing 3.4 million viewers up against soap rival Emmerdale.
3.4 million continued to watch Eat Well For Less before numbers fell to 2.4 million for new drama Keeping Faith.
On Channel 4, the first half of new documentary Prison interested 1.8 million viewers.
On ITV2, Love Island rose to 2.9 million viewers for its latest instalment.
600,000 viewers tuned in afterwards for Keith Lemon's Coming in America while 800,000 watched Young Sheldon on E4 followed by 450,000 for Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
