Ultimate Wedding Planner start date and all about new BBC TV show

A new BBC Two competition series will see wedding planners battling it out.

Titled Ultimate Wedding Planner, the new show will follow similar series such as Interior Design Masters, Glow Up and All That Glitters: Britain’s Next Jewellery Star.

The programme will feature a cast of budding wedding planners battle it out to prove they have what it takes to become Britain’s next best wedding guru.

Each week the fledgling planners will be tasked with creating dream weddings for deserving couples around the UK, many of whom had their plans left in tatters due to lockdown.

Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies, First Dates favourite Fred Sirieix and wedding industry expert Raj Somaiya will be the judges and mentors, deciding which planner is sent home at the end of each episode.

In the final, the two remaining planners will face one final challenge to decide who will be crowned the winner.

Ultimate Wedding Planner starts on Tuesday, 8 August at 9PM on BBC Two and iPlayer.

The BBC share: “At the heart of every episode is one engaged couple and their family. It’s for the planners to work together to pull off the couple’s dream wedding in just a matter of days.

“The planners will be talented, creative and have great organisational skills, but they’ll be attempting the seemingly impossible as they go all out to turn around incredible weddings against the clock, knowing that if they fail, they could be booted out of the competition at any time by the no-nonsense judges.

“Each wedding will be a true celebration of the wedding couples’ love. And the fulfilment of their wishes will be at the very heart of the process – but can the planners pull off their wildest wedding dreams?”

Sara Davies said: “Master of Ceremonies brings back that much needed romance and joy we have missed over the last couple of years. I can’t wait to see what our planners conjure up to create our couples’ dream day. I’ll be putting the wedding planners through their paces and making sure they create the perfect finishing touches. They’ll need to be imaginative, resourceful and able to react in an ever-changing environment but most importantly they better stay in budget!”

Raj Somaiya commented: “Master of Ceremonies is a show like no other. Not only does it have the potential to change our wedding planner’s lives and elevate their careers but at the heart of it is couples hoping for the best day of their lives. I’m looking for creativity, lateral thinking and the ability to deliver that personal touch for our couples.”

Fred Sirieix added: “I am so excited to be a part of Master of Ceremonies. Our planners are going to have to bring their A game to deliver creative and beautiful, but also incredibly personal, ceremonies for our brilliant and deserving couples. The wedding industry is so competitive and hospitality has to be second to none. The stakes couldn’t be higher, this has to be the best day of our couples’ lives – so no pressure!”

Ultimate Wedding Planner will air across six episodes on BBC Two and iPlayer.
