Mel B joins ‘Mel B’ for E4 special looking back on 2019

Spice Girl Mel B is joined by, er, Mel B on a new E4 special this month.

For the first time in more than 10 years, Leigh Francis’ most memorable Bo’ Selecta impersonation comes face to face with his intended parody.

Mel B and Mel B are to take part in a one-off 90-minute special called What a F***in’ Year on TV.

The two Mels will celebrate an entire year packed full of ‘reet good’ telly, hanging out out together in her apartment in Leeds.

E4 tease: “Donning the classic leopard print dress, surrounded by party food and a fridge full of bevvies, the Mels will give their honest and brutal opinion on the TV moments that have made us laugh out loud and shed a tear over the past year.

“What a F***in’ Year on TV with Mel B & Mel B will be filled to the brim with famous catchphrases, outrageous TV clips, satirical sketches and a few celebrity cameos dropping by for a gossip.”

Melanie Brown said: “I’m so excited to do this show because 2019 has been one hell of a year and I get to share all of it with ME – or rather Leigh as me.

“It’s going to be funny, fabulous, fantastic and completely crazy. Even I don’t know what to expect except it’s going to be hilarious. Fasten your seat belts for a review of the year like no other.”

What a F***in’ Year on TV with Mel B & Mel B will air on 17 December at 9pm on E4.

Alongside the two Mels, special guests appearing will include Love Island’s Megan Barton Hanson disclosing her top social media tips while the boys next door, Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson and TOWIE personality Pete Wicks lay on the charm.

Plus, football personality Chris Kamara stops by for a quiet moment alone with the Mels before Naked Attraction’s Anna Richardson provides a unique and cheeky TV narration like no other.

Jon Petrie, Comedy Commissioning Editor for Channel 4 said: “We are excited that Leigh Francis is bringing this infamous Bo Selecta character back to life for a one off special.

“It’ll be a lovely Christmas treat watching Mel B dissect this year’s telly with her foul-mouthed alter ego. It’s certainly an interesting alternative to ‘The Snowman’…”
