Love Island stars ‘paid just £10 an hour’ to appear in Christmas special

The stars of Love Island are reportedly being paid just £10 an hour to appear in the show’s Christmas special.

ITV2 will air Love Island: The Christmas Reunion this December with host Caroline Flack reuniting nineteen of its most talked about Islanders as they gather for the ultimate festive get together.

Those taking part will be Love Island winners Jack and Dani and finalists Wes and Megan, and Kaz (boyfriend Josh is away in the USA).

Meanwhile, how will estranged couples Laura and Paul, Georgia and Sam and Ellie and Charlie react as they come face to face?

Samira, Dr Alex, Alexandra, Kendall, Adam and Zara, Hayley and Eyal are also back to update on whether they’ve had more luck in love outside the villa.

Filming will reportedly take place over two days and there’s supposedly been “uproar” over the £10 an hour wage offered.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “They have been in uproar over being paid so little for two days’ work. It almost isn’t worth hours of awkward conversation with your ex — which for many of the islanders will be the case now.”

And the insider even alleged: “A few have even discussed dropping out to avoid any unnecessary aggravation. The low fees have also upset their agents, who are used to dealing with much bigger contracts.”

ITV2 previously teased that the Christmas special would pick up where the couples left off, with Love Island narrator Iain Stirling once again presiding over the proceedings.

Six months on, whose love has lasted the distance, who has scores to settle, and who is feeling single and ready to mingle once again?

Escaping to a festive retreat, the Islanders will lift the lid on the dramatic break ups and tabloid headlines that have played out since departing the villa. Are reconciliations on the cards, or have the holiday romance bubbles well and truly burst?
