Little Mix fans RAGING after girls miss out on BRIT award
Fans of Little Mix have been left raging after the girls missed out on a BRIT Award.
Despite another spectacular year for the former X Factor winners, they bagged just the one nomination at last night’s awards.
Best British Video was voted for by fans on Twitter and Little Mix’s Touch lost out to fellow X Factor star Harry Styles and his song Sign Of The Times.
Alongside Little Mix and Harry, other One Direction stars Liam Payne and Zayn Malik (with Taylor Swift) were nominated together with Ed Sheeran.
Fans of Little Mix were left angry and confused by the result, after the BRITs website appeared to show the girls had won.
When it was announced on TV they hadn’t, a lot of outrage followed.
@thepopconnect tweeted: “Despite finishing first on the #BRITs vote website and having a worldwide trending hashtag, Little Mix did not win the award for ‘British Video of the Year’.”
@ShadyMixerFacts added: “LOL. Little Mix have been #1 ever since the f**king voting started but they’re going to give it to someone who didn’t even f**king show up? A joke. The gag of the year. #BRITs”
And @zarasglory posted: “this literally isn’t even about talent or who deserved more, this is about CHEATING, Little mix were in the lead every single weak, and when the countdown finished, they were still #1, they were cheated of yet another Brit. End of.”
However One Direction fans hit back, leading to a bit of a Twitter war between the two fanbases.
@tbh_idk_either tweeted: “Directioners won. Accept it. You lost. You’re just humiliating yourselves by overreactingthis much and I love it.”
Fans of Harry shared their own screenshots, showing that Harry’s voting hashtag had received more mentions than Little Mix’s on Twitter.
Viewers could vote by posting the hashtag, but were limited to one vote per account.
Retweets were not eligible, nor misspellings or typos.
