The BBC has revealed a first look at series 5 of Line Of Duty, which will air later in 2019.
The police corruption drama started airing on BBC Two back in 2012 but moved to BBC One for its fourth series in 2017 due to big viewing figures.
Over 7 million tuned in to the series finale and there’s been an agonising two-year wait for new episodes.
But finally, they’re on their way!
The BBC this weekend revealed a first look at the upcoming series with a teaser trailer, below.
Stephen Graham (Save Me, Taboo, This Is England) will star as guest lead in Line Of Duty series five, it was confirmed previously.
Graham will play John Corbett alongside Rochenda Sandall (Girlfriends, Broken) as Lisa McQueen – two pivotal figures in a deadly organised crime group.
Known to have links with corrupt police officers and suspected to be under direct command of the shadowy figure known only as ‘H’, Corbett and McQueen become persons of interest to AC-12 following an explosive chain of events.
Joining regular series lead stars Vicky McClure (DS Kate Fleming), Martin Compston (DS Steve Arnott) and Adrian Dunbar (Supt. Ted Hastings), the new series will also see the return of Maya Sondhi as PC Maneet Bindra, Polly Walker as Gill Biggeloe, Aiysha Hart as DS Sam Railston, Tony Pitts as Det. Ch. Supt. Les Hargreaves and Andrea Irvine as Roisin Hastings.
They will be joined by Line Of Duty newcomers Taj Atwal (In The Club, Stella), Richard Pepple (Motherland, Beasts of No Nation) as new regulars PC Tatleen Sohota and PS Kyle Ferringham, alongside Susan Vidler (Shetland, The Coroner), Sian Reese-Williams (Hidden, Requiem), Ace Bhatti (Bohemian Rhapsody, No Offence) and Elizabeth Rider (Informer, Doctor Foster).
The BBC previously confirmed a fifth series after moving the show to BBC One for Series 4.
Charlotte Moore, BBC Controller of TV Channels and iPlayer, said at the time: “Line of Duty is original, bold, gripping drama that gets the nation talking and the time is right to bring the series to an even broader audience on BBC One.
“Jed Mecurio’s explosive thriller will find a new home on BBC One for two more series and create room for new drama to flourish on BBC Two. Thanks to Jed, Simon Heath’s World Productions, and Stephen Wright at the BBC for producing the record-breaking show.”
