John Torode and Lisa Faulkner head down under for new foodie series on ITV

John Torode and Lisa Faulkner are to head down under for a new foodie series on ITV, starting on Saturday, 20 January.

In John & Lisa’s Food Trip Down Under, the husband and wife pair will travel 500 miles along the beautiful coast of Western Australia, in search of the very best local food and wine.

There they’ll seek out chefs, food fanatics and entrepreneurs creating incredible produce in new ways, from black truffles to abalone. They’ll meet established winemakers and experience some of Western Australia’s most beautiful landscapes.

A teaser shares: “The series will take the married duo from the bright lights of Perth to the Margaret River and into the Southern Forests. During the trip they’ll take in some of the world’s most stunning scenery and come face to face with extraordinary wildlife, from dolphins and stingrays to the quokkas of Rottnest Island.

“The series will provide both mouth-watering and jaw-dropping scenes in each hour-long episode, as John and Lisa unearth hidden gems and some exciting new cooking methods.”

John shares his excitement about exploring new regions in Australia, particularly the south from Perth along the Margaret River coastline. “Australia is so massive that it’s really hard to see all of it,” John explains. He describes the diverse landscapes they encountered, from “the amazing seasides, to the huge ancient Southern forests where the Karri trees were the biggest I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Lisa expresses her love for the series and the joy of discovering Western Australia, a region they knew little about. “Australia is beautiful and just stunning,” Lisa remarks, highlighting the incredible variety within a single area – beaches, countryside, forests, and wildlife. “It was just a really wonderful trip,” she adds.

Describing the trip as a road adventure, Lisa recalls her awe at the natural beauty they witnessed. “To explore so many new things together during this trip was what made it so exciting,” she says. John adds, “Oh yeah, it was our first time going to Western Australia together and we were very excited.”

John & Lisa’s Food Trip Down Under will air on ITV1 and ITVX from Saturday, 20 January at 11:40AM.

The series will air over five episodes.
