Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo was reportedly paid just £13,000 to take part in I’m A Celebrity 2017.
The current favourite to win, ITV seem to have got themselves a bargain with the Made In Chelsea star.
According to The Sun newspaper, Toff’s fee is the lowest of the remaining celebrities and is dwarfed by some of the other reported numbers.
Amir Khan is said to be the most paid of the lot, with a rumoured pay of £300,000 for his stint in the jungle.
A source told The Sun: “Georgia has been gold from the start this series but ITV bosses have got her for a bargain price.
“She jumped at the chance to go into the jungle and producers didn’t need to throw much money at her. Compare her to Amir’s fee and they’ve got her for a snip.
“He’s the highest-earning contestant ever, even eclipsing what they paid Katie Price. But Toff is the one providing all the entertainment.”
However an unnamed friend of Toff’s poured doubt over the claim.
They told the Daily Mirror newspaper in a contradictory report: “The figure quoted is totally wrong, Toff was already a star of Made In Chelsea and going on to I’m A Celebrity is a month away from home.
“To suggest she was the lowest paid camp mate is wide of the mark.
“She might not have been as famous as Amir Khan when she went in but she is leaving with a decent pay cheque and dozens of offers on the table for TV, modelling and all sorts of things.”
Whatever her fee, it should be noted that Toff is unlikely to see anywhere near close to the amount in her bank account.
BBC newsreader Michael Beurk, who took part in the 2014 series, previously said of his fee: “If you only knew how much the Australian tax authorities get out of it, you’d realise at the end of the day that it is the glory, I think, I am doing it for.”
I’m A Celebrity continues nightly on ITV.
The final airs this Sunday evening on ITV.
