I’m A Celebrity 2017 bosses ‘disappointed by dull celebrities’

I’m A Celebrity bosses are said to be ‘disappointed’ by this year’s celebrities.

The latest series is now over a week in but producers feel it’s yet to really kick off.

And according to The Sun, they’ve even been forced to step in to keep conversations going.

The tabloid claims that the I’m A Celeb team have resorted to giving celebs topics to discuss, such as talking about their career highs.

A show source explained: “They were hoping the inclusion of strong characters like Jamie Lomas, Stanley Johnson and Rebekah Vardy would spark a few lively debates.

“But that has yet to materialise at all. ITV has used the technique of scripting reality in other shows like The Only Way Is Essex and have seen amusing results.

“If viewers are wondering why conversations around the campfire feel a bit forced, it’s because they are.”

The celebrities currently in the Jungle for the new series this year are Made In Chelsea’s Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo; and Chelsea and England footballer Dennis Wise.

Joining them are Hollyoaks hunk Jamie Lomas; The Saturdays singer Vanessa White; and Boxer Amir Khan.

Also confirmed are Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine; Football Wag Rebekah Vardy; Comedian Shappi Khorsandi; and Ex MP and father of Boris Johnson, Stanley Johnson.

And after a few days, joining camp were former Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale and Radio host Iain Lee.

Ratings for the show started at over 10 million viewers but had dropped to 8 million last Sunday.

I’m A Celebrity continues nightly on ITV with hosts Ant and Dec.

The series will conclude next Sunday night, December 10.
