I’m A Celebrity spoilers! Stars battle storms and heights as they make way into camp

I’m A Celebrity 2018 kicks off tonight and here’s a first spoiler-filled preview.

The brand series airs at 9PM tonight on ITV, Sunday November 18.

10 brand new celebrities have swapped luxury for life in the I’m A Celebrity Jungle and will face their fears over the next three weeks.

They are TV presenter Nick Knowles, actor and entertainer John Barrowman MBE, Hollyoaks star Malique Thompson-Dwyer, popstar James McVey and football manager Harry Redknapp.

Joining them are actor Rita Simons, TV’s ‘The Governess’ Anne Hegerty, comedy actor Emily Atack, Coronation Street star Sair Khan and singer Fleur East.

Holly Willoughby joins Dec as host for the series and they start by meeting John, Sair, Rita and James on a boat on the glamourous Gold Coast. There, it was revealed they’d be split into two teams from the outset.

In scenes that will air in this evneing’s launch, John and Sair become the founding members of the red team and Rita and James are the founding members of the yellow team.

Dec and Holly explain that the 4 celebrities would be taking part in various challenges before reaching camp and the aim is to build a team along the way. If they win a challenge they get to have first choice of a new celebrity, whereas losers can’t be choosers…

Once the teams are complete there would be a final head to head race and the team that wins would go to main camp (Croc Creek) where they would get an easier start to their jungle experience, with the losers heading to the less luxurious Snake Rock.

The first challenge was The Edge: Two towers heading out from the edge of a cliff, 100 metres above the Jungle floor.

Filmed at a stunning Queensland beauty spot, Tanninaba Falls, this is the highest challenge ever seen on I’m A Celebrity.

Working in teams, they climbed the towers and collected as many flags as possible. They had to take it in turns to collect the flags that were numbered 1 through to 10. The team mates couldn’t move onto the next flag until their partner had collected theirs.

It was a race against the clock to see which team could collect the most flags in the least amount of time.

After taking on the various man-made challenges, the celebs then faced what mother nature had to throw at them.

Bad storms erupted over camp just as they were about to enter for the first time.

The storm made water gush down onto both camps, Croc Creek and Snake Rock soaking all camp utensils and sleeping areas in the process.
