I’m A Celebrity discounts app votes following ‘wording error’

I’m A Celebrity has revealed that tonight’s results were decided by phone votes only after a ‘wording error’ on the show’s app.

This evening (November 29) saw the first elimination results from I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here following an immunity challenge.

Nine celebrities ended up facing the public vote and it was Adele Roberts who left I’m A Celebrity.

Hosts Ant and Dec had originally encouraged viewers to vote for their favourite via both phone lines and the app.

However the show’s official app had incorrectly told viewers they were voting for which celebrity they wanted to leave rather than save.

Consequently, all free app votes were discounted from the results tonight.

I’m A Celebrity said in a statement: “Due to a wording error on the app, the result of tonight’s vote will be based on phone votes alone.

“If you’ve already voted via the app we are very sorry, but your vote will not count tonight. #ImACeleb”

Earlier in tonight’s episode the then 12 celebs faced a series of challenges to win immunity from the first vote off.

The first, Sickening Circus was a head to head drinking Trial based around classic horror movies. The loser of each round would face the public vote.

At the end, Andrew, Cliff, Andy, Jacqueline, Caitlyn and Nadine were left facing the public vote off.

Adele, Myles, James, Ian, Kate and Roman went forward to another challenge where they found themselves having to endure baths of slime and fish guts, filling up tubes in order to escape.

Eventually Myles, James and Ian won the challenge and filled their tubes up in the fastest time. This meant they were now immune from the first public vote off.

Kate, Roman and Adele joined Andrew, Cliff, Andy, Jacqueline, Caitlyn and Nadine in facing the first public vote.

Adele became the first to leave, backing Nadine to win.

She told hosts Ant and Dec: “I’m happy for anyone to win it but… Nadine is my girl!”

I’m A Celebrity continues nightly on ITV.
