This year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here contestants will not eat live critters in a big change to the show.
Producers have revealed that only dead insects will be served up to the celebs
It follows complaints about trials in past years, which included Ferne McCann eating a live spider in 2015.
A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Producers have taken a look at the Trials and decided that no live critters would be eaten in the Trials this year.
“They have been planning this for some time and actually last year beach worms were the only critters eaten live but this time around they’ve decided to implement the change fully and permanently.”
Although no live bugs will be eaten, celebs may still face ‘holding’ trials where they must keep insects in their mouths for a set period of time.
Meanwhile, this year’s I’m A Celebrity will see no camp fire due to ongoing bushfires raging across Australia.
Celebs will instead be provided a gas stove which has been installed in the camp.
A spokesperson for ITV said: “In light of the current situation in Australia, I’m A Celebrity will not feature an open camp fire.
“Instead, campmates will cook their food and boil their water on a specially made gas stove.”
Those on the I’m A Celebrity cast include Ex footballer and TV pundit Ian Wright MBE, Ex England rugby player James Haskell and TV and radio presenter Kate Garraway.
They’re joined by comedian Andrew Maxwell, Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle, soap star Jacqueline Jossa, Capital Radio DJ Roman Kemp and Olympian and reality personality Caitlyn Jenner.
Completing the line up are Rak-Su singer Myles Stephenson and Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts.
Ant and Dec will be back to host the show, starting this Sunday night, November 17 at 9PM on ITV.
Alongside the main show, Extra Camp will air on ITV2 nightly.
