I’m A Celebrity 2022: Chris Moyles, Boy George, Olivia Attwood, Scarlette Douglas take on first trial

Four celebs took on the very first bushtucker trial of I’m A Celebrity’s new series this evening.

Boy George, Olivia Attwood, Chris Moyles and Scarlette Douglas all faced the first challenge after being made ‘Jungle VIPs’ in the first episode.

Arriving at the trial, Ant said: “As you know, in order to leave this island and head into camp you have to take part in the first Bushtucker Trial. In order to feed yourselves and your fellow campmates tonight.”

Dec continued: “This is HMS Drown Under. Two of you have to work together to locate the taps which are situated inside these hell holes. You’ll both need to turn the taps to fill up the water pipe. Every time the water reaches a number it will release a star into the two torpedo tubes which are behind you here, where the other two celebrities will be locked in.”

Ant noted of it being a Bushtucker Trial: “There’ll be a few surprises along the way.”

With Olivia and Scarlette opting to do the hell holes, Boy George and Chris were locked inside the torpedoes.

Inside the tube, Chris joked: “Declan, I’ve changed my mind, I want to do Love Island.”

Dec said: “It’s a bit late for that now!”

Olivia and Scarlette squealed as they put their hands in each hell hole, which housed among other things bearded dragons and a carpet python.

As the water rose in his torpedo, Chris worried: “Oh my god, it’s getting a bit high!”

As time ticked on the four celebrities were able to get 8 of the 10 stars.

Yesterday’s launch saw this year’s cast make their entrance into the jungle a number of ways from walking off buildings to jumping out of helicopters.

During the opening episode, Ant & Dec revealed Boy George and Olivia had been chosen as ‘Jungle VIPs’.

Each in turn got to pick a ‘plus one’, with Olivia choosing Chris and Boy George selecting Scarlette.

However they soon learned that in the jungle, VIP meant Very Isolated People and they would spend the night marooned on an island before facing the first trial of the series.

Further celebrities on 2022’s I’m A Celebrity line up currently include England footballer Jill Scott, rugby star Mike Tindall MBE, soap actress Sue Cleaver, Loose Women’s Charlene White, Hollyoaks star Owen Warner and comic Babatúndé Aléshé.

Hosted by Ant & Dec, I’m A Celebrity airs nightly at 9PM on ITV and ITV Hub.
