Two of this year’s I’m A Celebrity 2018 contestants have reportedly dropped out before the show even begins.
Soap star Faye Brookes, best known for playing Kate Connor in ITV’s Coronation Street, had apparently been lined up for the jungle this year.
She together with TV presenter Kate Garraway have supposedly backed out of the series for personal reasons.
It’s claimed Faye withdrew from the jungle after splitting – and later reuniting – with partner, singer Gareth Gates.
Meanwhile, The Sun say that Kate has decided “the timing isn’t right” for her to have a stint in the jungle.
A source alleged to the tabloid: “Kate is no longer taking part – she didn’t want to be out of the UK for a long time and it’s just not the right time for her to take part.
“She’s a big fan of the show so she’s not ruling it out forever – just this year!”
With Faye and Kate seemingly ruled out, who could be entering the camp instead? Rumoured names include Faye’s fellow soap stars, Hollyoaks actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer and Holby City actress Rosie Marcel, plus Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing and Inbetweeners star Emily Atack.
Also linked to the series are X Factor singer Fleur East, TV presenter Nick Knowles, Coronation Street actress Lucy Fallon, reality star Charlotte Dawson and The Saturdays’ Frankie Bridge.
Meanwhile, Blazin Squad star Marcel Somerville could become the first Love Islander to appear on the show, although both Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay are also rumoured.
Away from the I’m A Celebrity cast, ITV has announced Holly Willoughby will join Dec as co-host this year after Ant stepped down from TV commitments until 2019 after seeking treatment in rehab.
I’m A Celebrity typically launches next Sunday, November 18 on ITV at 9PM. The series will air nightly over three weeks.
