Great British Bake Off’s Selasi is opening his own pop up bakery

Selasi Gbormittah is set to open his own bakery in London after the Great British Bake Off.

Selasi appeared in the Great British Bake Off in 2016, the final series on BBC One, making it through to the semi-final but falling at the final hurdle.

Judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry picked the top three bakers and Selasi missed out as Andrew Smyth, Jane Beedle and Candice Brown made it into the final.

Chatting after his exit, Selasi admitted he “dropped the ball” in the final three challenges.

However fans of the baker had good news after current bank worker Selasi announced plans for his own bakery and cookbook.

He teased at the time: “I do love banking but I’m hoping to open a bakery somewhere in west London in the foreseeable future.”

Selasi told the Radio Times Magazine (via Get West London): “My immediate adventure however, is a motorbike/baking tour across Europe which I’m currently planning.

“I hope to share all the recipes I learn in a book.”

Online and fans of the super cool baker couldn’t wait for more from Selasi.

“Selasi’s wants to open a bakery & write a book of recipes gathered on a European road trip. This is the best thing I’ve heard all year #GBBO,” one wrote.

Fast forward a year and Selasi’s bakery is here… sort of.

He’ll be opening a pop up bakery called Selasi’s Bakes via delivery service Deliveroo, from Tuesday October 3.

“‘SELASI’S POP-UP BAKERY’coming to a @Deliveroo near you?? #YAY On 03/10/17,we’ll be here to satisfy your sweet cravings. #200Cupcakes ???‍??” Selasi tweeted.
