Filming for the new series of Geordie Shore is said to have been delayed in a row over pay.
Cast of the MTV series have reportedly demanded pay rises in their new contracts, forcing filmed to be temporarily halted.
According to The Sun newspaper, work on the new series was due to begin earlier this week but has been pushed back until at least the weekend.
Show bosses have supposedly been forced into talks with the reality programme’s stars, who are asking for bigger fees.
Geordie Shore regulars Marnie Simpson, Chloe Ferry and Scotty T are all expected to return for the new series, however original cast member Gaz Beadle will be out after announcing he is expecting a baby with his girlfriend.
“The big names in the cast are failing to agree terms such as fees for the series,” a source said. “With Gaz having left the show they felt there should be more money to dish out.”
The insider explained that the contract issues have since been ironed out, with the cast agreeing to a new deal following negotiations.
The source said: “Many of the shows biggest stars have issues with terms in their agreement with the programme makers which has taken up time, and whilst everyone has now signed for the new series several of its key cast were refusing to agree terms.”
Work on the new series of Geordie Shore gets underway while the current run is still airing.
Geordie Shore airs Tuesday nights at 10PM on MTV.
