Gemma Collins ‘signs huge record deal, ruling her out of Celebrity X Factor’

Gemma Collins has reportedly landed a huge record deal that will see her NOT take part in Celebrity X Factor.

Reality sensation Gemma had been tipped for this year’s special series of The X Factor.

But now it appears as though she’s set to snub Simon Cowell in her attempts to launch a pop career.

It had been claimed that Celebrity X Factor bosses were “desperate” to sign the GC, who surprised many last year when she performed on All Together Now’s Celebrity special on BBC One.

“We want big and exciting stars and The GC is popular and we reckon she makes entertaining viewing,” a source said earlier this year. “More important, she can sing.”

The Sun reports that Gemma had been offered as much as £250,000 to join Celebrity X Factor.

However after signing a record deal with music giant Universal she won’t be taking part.

Instead, Gemma is apparently hoping to drop her first single by the end of the year.

It was previously reported that the TOWIE star had teamed up with music producer Naughty Boy.

English musician Naughty Boy has previously worked with a host of big names, including Beyonce Leona Lewis, JLS, Cheryl, Jennifer Hudson, Alesha Dixon, Sam Smith and Tinie Tempah.

The pair first met at the BRIT awards earlier this year.

“I saw her and we had this instant synergy. That room at the Brits is full of superstars, but for me, Gemma was shining brighter,” Naughty Boy said.

He described Gemma as a “new age superstar”.

“She sung me a part of Running, the Beyonce song, and when she sung me that, I was thinking, ‘This girl can actually sing, she’s got a personality and she’s got a following. This is the new age superstar,” the songwriter told The Sun at the time. “When people hear the music and hear her voice, I think it’s going to take her up a notch.

“I don’t consider Gemma a reality TV person, I consider her a superstar.”

Alongside a potential record deal, Gemma also has her own reality TV series.

Gemma Collins’ TV show Diva Forever launches on ITVBe on August 7.
