Dancing On Ice has BIG plans for its brand new series

Dancing On Ice returns in the new year and ITV are going all out for the new series.

Dancing On Ice originally ran between 2006 and 2014 but will be back on TV in January for a tenth series on ITV.

The revived sees will of course see a brand new line up of celebs but also a new judging panel, pro skaters and even a brand new set.

In fact, ITV are said to be looking to build two huge ice rinks from scratch for the show – one for training and the other for the live performances.

Previous series aired from Elstree Studios, where Britain’s Got Talent was filmed earlier this year and Strictly’s live shows are currently broadcast from.

But The Sun says ITV are wanting to go bigger and better for the return, constructing two temporary rinks at Bovingdon Airfield in Hertfordshire.

An insider told the newspaper: “It’s an ambitious plan but bosses want to make sure they have free rein over how it will look. With the temporary rinks, it means they can build them from scratch with all their own fittings.”

So far a total of 10 celebrities have been confirmed for the series.

Soap star Brooke Vincent was revealed as the new series’ first star signing for the returning show at the end of October.

Cheryl Baker was the second celebrity confirmed to compete in Dancing on Ice 2018 before Love Island contestant Kem Cetinay became the third star on the cast.

Joining them are Great British Bake Off’s Candice Brown, X Factor singer Jake Quickenden, Rugby hunk Max Evans, Cricket hero Monty Panesar and ITV Weatherman Alex Beresford.

Actress and TV presenter Donna Air and athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton are the latest names on the official Dancing On Ice line up.

A total of 12 celebrities will be skating to impress the ice panel, consisting of skating legends Torvill and Dean, show favourite Jason Gardiner and new judge Ashley Banjo, as well as the viewers at home.

The brand new series of Dancing On Ice is expected to return to ITV in January, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield.
