The Chuckle Brothers are set for their first new TV series in almost a decade.
Paul and Barry Elliot are to front a new Channel 5 teatime show on Saturday evenings.
Chuckle Time will be their first show since ChuckleVision ended after over 20 years on air back in 2009.
The Sun reports that the new show “will introduce funny internet and audience clips and perform sketches”
“It’s going to be fun for all the family, a bit like You’ve Been Framed but with more of the brothers’ own input,” a source added. “Paul and Barry have spent their lives falling over and making the public laugh, now they are watching us make fools of ourselves.”
The Chuckle Brothers first rose to fame in the 1960s, winning TV talent show Opportunity Knocks.
The pair recently popped up on ITV comedy Benidorm, and have also been linked to this summer’s Celebrity Big Brother cast.
The comedy duo apparently almost entered the house previously.
They revealed last month they were in talks with show bosses but things didn’t work out.
Seemingly putting themselves forward for the show this summer, Barry said: “I’d probably do Celebrity Big Brother. We were asked and they were talking to us about it but nothing came of it.
“I think they thought we weren’t nasty enough.”
Brother Paul added to the Metro newspaper: “You never know, maybe one day we’ll give it a go.
“It would be fun, as long as they’ve got whisky in there and not just beer and wine.”
