Celebrity MasterChef: Tonight’s contestants and results as semi-finals begin

Celebrity MasterChef 2017 tonight

Celebrity MasterChef 2017 was back on BBC One tonight for the semi-finals.

From the contestants left on the cast to the latest results, here’s all you need to know.

Back again for a brand new series, Celebrity MasterChef invites stars from the world of sport, show business, music and drama to chop, slice and sizzle their way to the trophy.

Seasoned judges, John Torode and Gregg Wallace will return to have their taste buds challenged, whilst they whittle down the twenty celebrity contestants; comparing their culinary skills in their hunt to single out one champion.

In the heats, the celebs were split into groups of 5 where they took part in a series of challenges where just two made it through.

After the results from the heats and second half of the semi-final, here’s who’s left…

Broadcaster Dev Griffin
Double Olympic gold medallist Becky Adlington
TV presenter Angellica Bell
Writer and TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson

Opera star Lesley Garrett – ELIMINATED
Presenter and parish priest Reverend Kate Bottley – ELIMINATED
Actor Brian Bovell – ELIMINATED
French tennis legend Henri Leconte – ELIMINATED

The successful contestants from the heats are now through to semi-final week where they face nerve-racking but enthralling challenges.

In Tuesday’s first half of the semi-final, the celebrity contestants faced their toughest challenge yet as they cooked for 120 staff and volunteers at the Royal National Lifeboat Institute in Poole, Dorset. Split into two teams, the celebrities hd to create dishes from ingredients including chicken, pork and haddock.

Then, the contestants went back to the Masterchef Kitchen to face an Invention Test.

At the end of it, two celebs were eliminated and it was Brian and Henri who were eliminated.

The semi-finals continued tonight with the last of the semi-finals finds six contenders faced new challenges including preparing a typical take-away meal – either fish and chips, Indian chicken curry or burger and fries.

Two more ended up leaving – Kate and Lesley – putting the remaining four though to the final.

In the final week next week, the remaining, and hopefully now impressive cooks, draw on all the skills they have learnt during their MasterChef journey when they face not only John Torode’s unnerving Palate Test, but also the notorious restaurant critics in the terrifying Critic’s Round.

At the end of it all, it’s back to MasterChef HQ for one last time and cook their best three-course meal for John and Gregg before the winner is declared.
