Caitlyn Jenner and Kate Garraway faced the first bushtucker trial on I’m A Celebrity 2019 tonight.
The brand new series of I’m A Celebrity Get me Out Of Here started on Sunday night on ITV.
It was Kate and Caitlyn who were voted by the public to take part in the first trial, Bugged Off.
It saw the pair locked up in boxes suspended 20 metres above the jungle canopy, joined by some 50,000 critters and 25 rats.
In order to win stars – meaning meals for camp – they had to drop balls into a basket below. For each ball that lands in the basket, they won a meal.
After battling the bugs, both Kate and Caitlyn won two meals for camp each.
Both women complained that they had bugs in their underwear. Caitlyn had to have a cockroach removed from her ear.
Following the trial, Ant and Dec revealed a twist ass they phoned the Main Camp – currently home to Nadine Coyle, Adele Roberts, Myles Stephenson, and Roman Kemp – and told them that they could rescue one of either Kate or Caitlyn and that celebrity would then move to Main Camp. They chose Kate to join them.
Caitlyn commented that “that was a very hard challenge. A lot to do with luck and a little bit of skill. I was hoping obviously for five stars but two means, we’re doing better than we were doing before.”
Kate said that she thought “It was a lot worse than I thought it was going to be. When I saw it I thought this is going to be hard. It was really hard. I’d like to have got more stars if I’m honest but I feel very proud and delighted to be going to see the other gang now.”
Kate made her way to the main camp where she was warmly welcomed. Nadine said “Kate has really had a tough time so it only felt right to bring her back here, feed her up, give her as much as we can and make her comfortable as we can because she deserves it.”
“I do feel like I’ve got survivors guilt though” confessed Kate, as the others agreed with her, explaining that they felt guilty when they ate knowing that the campers at Snake Rock would be struggling.
Meanwhile, Caitlyn returned alone to Snake Rock where her fellow campmates put a brave face on the fact there were only two meals between the five of them.
Alongside Caitlyn, those in Snake Rock are Jacqueline Jossa, James Haskell, Ian Wright MBE, Capital and comedian Andrew Maxwell.
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here continues nightly on ITV at 9PM, hosted by Ant and Dec.
Alongside the main show, Extra Camp airs nightly on ITV2.
