The Britain’s Got More Talent host has been ruled out of filming at this week’s try outs in Blackpool by doctors.

He told his followers on Twitter today: “Morning! Absolutely gutted to be missing the first round of @BGT auditions this week in Blackpool!

“I am on doctor’s strict orders to rest my voice, after suffering a nasty bout of Laryngitis – first day off from the show in 11 years. Unbelievable!”

Stephen, who has hosted the ITV2 spin-off show for more than a decade, added: “I will be on mute until London auditions on the 27th Jan, look forward to seeing you all then!”

Filming Britain’s Got Talent begins today (Tuesday, January 16) in Blackpool for what will be the show’s 12th series.

Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden are all returning, alongside Ant and Dec who will host the main show.

As always, thousands of wacky and talented hopefuls have lined up to go before the judges to showcase a unique array of skills.

Now it’s time for them to face the panel with the goal of making it into the live semi-finals in the Spring.

As always, there will be a live crowd at every venue acting as the show’s fifth judge to help the panel make their decisions and making sure the judges know when they disagree with their choices!

You can be in the audience, securing free tickets from Applause Store.
