Britain’s Got Talent winner’s ‘special surprise’ prize is finally revealed

Britain's Got Talent winner to get a 'extra prize'

The Britain’s Got Talent 2018 winner’s ‘special prize’ has been revealed.

After thousands applied and hundreds auditioned, the Britain’s Got Talent winner was crowned back in June.

Comedian Lost Voice Guy won the series, a £250,000 cash prize and a place on the Royal Variety Performance.

During the first live show earlier this year, Simon Cowell dropped a surprise. He told host Dec: “This year the winner will get an extra surprise. The producers don’t know about this, even ITV don’t know. A big, big surprise. It’s worth winning that’s all I’ll say.”

“For certain reasons I cannot say yet but in the next few days I will,” he added.

It’s now been revealed that the prize was a spot on the line up of new Got Talent all stars series, America’s Got Talent: The Champions. The show will air on NBC in the States and feature notable contestants from the US series as well as Got Talent shows from across the globe.

Terry Crews will host the show with Simon Cowell, Mel B, Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum as judges.

“Looking forward to taking part in a very special show – AGT: The Champions. Due to be broadcast in January next year! #AGT,” tweeted Lost Voice Guy.

Other former Britain’s Got Talent acts on the show will be Ashleigh and Sully, Attraction, Billy & Emily England, Issy Simpson, Paul Potts, Susan Boyle and Darcy Oake.

Meanwhile, Lost Voice Guy has revealed what he spent his prize money on.

“I’d like to help the people who got me to where I am,” he told the Daily Mirror. “I have several support workers who help me get to all of my gigs so I’d like to reward them.

“My family have always supported me as well – and let’s face it, doing stand-up comedy when you can’t even speak is a pretty crazy dream – so I’d buy them all something nice too.”

Lost Voice Guy won Britain’s Got Talent in June against 10 other acts.

The contestants in the final were acrobats Giang Brothers and comedy singer Micky P Kerr, dancers DVJ, father and son singing duo Tim and Jack, comedian Robert White, singer Gruffydd Wyn Roberts, singer Donchez Dacres, singer Calum Courtney, comedian the D-Day Darlings in the final and wild card act, the B-Positive Choir.

Britain’s Got Talent will return to TV for a new series next year.
