Bob Mortimer wants to join the I’m A Celebrity 2018 line up

Bob Mortimer has revealed he wants to join the I’m A Celebrity 2018 line up.

The comedian wants to follow in the footsteps of pal Vic Reeves, who appeared on the show in 2004.

Vic, real name Jim Moir, was second to be kicked out of the jungle in his series.

And Bob wants to do a lot better.

Bob said this weekend: “I get tempted to do a reality show because I enjoy them so much. The Jungle? I haven’t had a call yet.”

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I watched Jim. God that was tough,” he said. “Jim’s very shy, so quite awkward when you meet him but when you’re on telly it’s not shyness it’s being stand-offish. He went into the jungle and I was like, ‘Oh, Jim, go and say hello!’ But Jim’s Jim.

“I was a bit disappointed with the last series because all I’m seeing is tasks. I used to like more manipulation.”

Meanwhile, former X Factor winner turned soap star Shayne Ward has also been rumoured for this year’s series following his exit from Coronation Street.

Shayne left the ITV soap this month after three years on the cobbles but his next big TV gig may already await.

The Daily Star reports that Shayne is top of a wish list of stars for this autumn’s I’m A Celebrity line up.

Already a number of other celebrities have been rumoured for the I’m A Celebrity 2018 cast.

The Saturdays’ Frankie Bridge is one of the favourites to join the I’m A Celebrity 2018 line up, following in the footsteps of her husband, Wayne Bridge.

Former S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens, Love Island’s Olivia Attwood, Celebs Go Dating’s Charlotte Dawson and Shayne’s fellow Corrie actress Catherine Tyldesley are also fancied for a stint on the show this year.

Also rumoured are Love Island and Blazin Squad star Marcel Somerville, snooker player Ronnie O’Sullivan, winter Olympian Elise Christie and Strictly Come Dancing pro Brendan Cole after his exit from the BBC One series.

I’m A Celebrity typically airs in November on ITV.
