New BBC One drama Baptiste continues tonight – who’s on the cast and what can we expect?
Baptiste is the new thrilling six-part drama from the creators of The Missing, starring Tchéky Karyo as the insightful but stubborn investigator Julien Baptiste.
French detective Julien Baptiste, who first appeared in The Missing series one and two, returns in the titular role for the new BBC One show.
Julien Baptiste is staying in Amsterdam where his daughter has recently had a child. Forever under their feet and restless, he is invited to meet up with old flame Martha Horchner, the chief of police in Amsterdam. But this isn’t a lunch to catch up on old times – she wants his help to find a missing girl, Natalie, the niece of Englishman Edward Stratton.
She believes the case is connected to a Romanian sex trafficking gang. It’s vital that they find her.
Baptiste airs on Sunday nights on BBC One from 9PM.

Tchéky Karyo plays Julien Baptiste, Tom Hollander plays Edward Stratton, Jessica Raine plays Genevieve Taylor, Boris Van Severen plays Niels and Barbara Sarafian plays Martha.
Baptiste is written by Harry and Jack Williams who are also Executive Producers alongside Christopher Aird for Two Brothers Pictures and Tommy Bulfin for the BBC. The series will be produced by John Griffin and directed by Borkur Sigthorsson and Jan Matthys.

In Sunday’s penultimate fifth of six episodes, the hunt is on for the missing cash, and Julien Baptiste (Tchéky Karyo) has to break the news to his family that they must remain in hiding.
Meanwhile Edward takes drastic measures to keep his ex wife Clare (Clare Calbraith) and her partner safe. Whilst in hiding they reopen some old wounds and Clare makes Edward face some difficult truths about a past tragedy.
Back in Amsterdam, Genevieve gets a shocking visit from Constantin (Alec Secareanu) and we discover the true nature of her relationship with Lucas (Marc De Hond).
More determined than ever to nail Constantin, she and Julien plot an audacious move to turn him and take down the Brigada Serbilu.
