Amy Hart thinks Love Island should make a key rule change

Love Island’s Amy Hart has suggested that the show make a key rule change.

Amy quit Love Island at the start of this week.

One of this year’s original islanders, Amy decided to withdraw from the show after breaking up with Curtis Pritchard.

It was Amy’s first proper relationship (even if they only were ‘half boyfriend and girlfriend’) and the split left her in tears.

Speaking after her exit, Amy suggested future series should make sure contestants have some relationship experience.

“You should have had a boyfriend before going on the show,” she told The Sun newspaper. “Going through my first major heartbreak on television isn’t the wisest choice. It’s embarrassing to have the younger people in the villa guiding me through my heartbreak.”

Meanwhile, Amy took aim at Maura Higgins after she made a move on Curtis.

“I don’t believe Maura liked Curtis,” she claims. “She was telling me to drop him. She took the mick out of the way he acted.

“I think she thought he was the best one left out of the single ones. She wants to be on the show for as long as possible and go the distance. They aren’t suited.”

After leaving the villa, Amy previously returned to social media with a message for her fans.

Saying it was a “scary decision” to leave but insisting it was “the right one”, Amy wrote on Instagram: “ITS ONLY ME ITS ONLY AMZ! Wow. Just wow. There’s so many messages and I keep trying to reply but then more come through. Please know that I am so so so grateful for every single message of support that has been sent.”

Despite choosing to leave, Amy added: “I would do it all again tomorrow.

“I left on good terms with everyone and have nothing but amazing things to say about the show, the production team and Curtis…so if you read anything to the contrary, don’t believe it!”

Love Island 2019 continues nightly at 9PM on ITV2.

This evening sees the Saturday night Unseen Bits episode ahead of Sunday’s latest instalment of new villa action.
