X Factor’s Matt Terry hits back at body shamers

Former X Factor winner Matt Terry has slammed body shamers.

The reigning champion of The X Factor returned to the live shows at the weekend to promote his album.

Singing new single The Thing About Love from his record Trouble, Matt found himself getting trolled online after the performance.

However Matt has brushed off the comments that took aim at his appearance.

“So I woke up this morning after my incredible night back at the show to body-shaming,” he said in a video posted to social media.

Matt continued: “I’ve always been built, always been that stone heavier than my friends and brothers but guess what I’m HAPPY.

“I think it’s easy to forget that not everyone is as confident as they’d like to be, not everyone is happy with themselves but do me a favour and LOVE yourself. Everybody deserves to be loved and don’t let negative people stand in your way.”

Meanwhile, speaking to OK! magazine, Matt said of the comments: “I’m putting it down to the song was so good they had to bash me another way.”

He added: “Do you know what, there is absolutely nothing wrong with me. I’m normal, I’m just built, I’ve got shoulders, I’ve got legs, I’ve got a Kardashian a**e.

“That is just me, I’m normal, I’m healthy, and I’m putting that down to, people love to find the negatives.”

Matt’s album Trouble is out this Friday.

A total of 6 contestants now remain in the competition’s final stages ahead of next weekend’s semi-finals.

They are Simon Cowell’s Groups Rak-Su and The CutKelvins, Sharon Osbourne’s final Girl Grace Davies.
