X Factor winner Sam Bailey has been rumoured for the Strictly Come Dancing line up.
Sam won The X Factor in 2013 although only stayed with Simon Cowell’s Syco record label for a year.
The former prison officer released her debut record in 2014 and it sold rather well, shifting over 70,000 copies in its first week to land at Number 1.
It was the first Number 1 album from an X Factor champ since Alexandra Burke in 2008 and was the second fastest selling album of 2014 by a female behind only Taylor Swift.
But despite that, Simon dropped Sam after just over a year with his Syco label.
The performer – who recently appeared on stage in Chicago – went on to release her own record on her own label with Sing My Heart Out making the Top 40.
With Strictly Come Dancing’s new series still a long way off it remains to be seen if Sam will end up on the final cast.
But she previously confessed to wanting to take part, saying back in 2015: “I’m really grateful for everything X Factor has done for me. I would also maybe like to get into acting and I would love to do Strictly Come Dancing.”
And Sam joked: “I’m happy I got my house extension — that’s what I entered the competition for.”
Strictly Come Dancing will be back on BBC One later this year.
Last year’s cast saw two former X Factor finalists, Alexandra Burke and Aston Merrygold.
Alex finished as runner up in the final but Aston made a shock early exit.
