X Factor winner Dalton Harris ‘has to leave UK’ because his visa is set to expire

X Factor’s Dalton Andre Harris has revealed he may be forced to leave the UK.

Sunday night saw Dalton win The X Factor 2018 having competed in the final with Anthony Russell and Scarlett Lee.

Dalton was crowned the winner with over 40% of the vote while Scarlett finished in second place and Anthony was in third.

Despite his victory, Dalton may soon be forced to leave the country and return to Jamaica due to visa issues.

“I need to get a new visa. I will have to leave the UK for a bit as you’re not allowed to just stay for ever,” he revealed this week. “Hopefully my visa will be sorted out quickly.”

According to The Sun newspaper, Dalton’s current visa was only valid while he was taking part in the show.

“I had a visa that allowed me to compete in the show, so I’d be surprised if the Government didn’t give me one now I have won,” Dalton told the tabloid.

Dalton was mentored by new X Factor judge Louis Tomlinson on this year’s show.

One Direction star Louis said at the weekend as Dalton was crowned the winner: “He’s been such a pleasure to work with and a true professional, so I’m so proud of him.”

Following his win, Dalton released his X Factor winner’s single to download and stream straight after the show.

The track, a cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’ The Power Of Love, features former X Factor winner James Arthur and profits will go to support two children’s charities.

The song has soared to the top of the iTunes download charts where it is still riding high as the Number 1 download.

In the latest Official Chart Update, the song has already made it up to Number 4 with sales of more than 20,000 ahead of Friday’s full official chart reveal.
