The guesses from the panel on the show ranged from Usher and Alfie Boe to Dara Ó Briain and even Elon Musk – although Rita correctly named Mark.

Many viewers at home were sure it was Mark Feehily from Westlife.

One wrote on Twitter: “Robobunny is defo Mark from Westlife @MaskedSingerUK” and another agreed: “Definitely recognising the voice of Robobunny is Mark Feehily #TheMaskedSingerUK”.

A third added: “Robobunny is that one from Westlife. Mark Feehily #TheMaskedSinger” while a fourth confidently announced: “I will eat my earphones if Robo Bunny is not Mark from Westlife #TheMaskedSinger #maskedsinger @MaskedSingerUK”

In the first episode, Robobunny belted out Whitney Houston classic Saving All My Life For You. In Week 2, they performed Shallow from A Star Is Born. For their third performance, Robobunny performed BTS’ Dynamite while in week four they performed The Music Of The Night’s Phantom Of The Opera.

In the semi-final, Robobunny performed Ariana Grande’s version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Nothing Breaks Like a Heart by Mark Ronson & Miley Cyrus. In the final, Robobunny performed Leona Lewis’ Run.

Robobunny has described themselves as a “real softie” who has “come to play” and plans to “control-alt-delete” what people know about them. The VTs have also featured a pair of pink boxing gloves with the letters M and A; a police badge, cowboy boots and a builder’s hard hat; and references to line dancing. Robobunny says they come from a big family and were inspired by their father.

In cryptic clues given to the panel, Robobunny shared: “I might be made of metal but that doesn’t stop me making a splash”, “I can’t tell you where I’m from but I have circumnavigated the world over ten times” and “Winning The Masked Singer would be my second greatest achievement”.

Then in week two, Robobunny offered up two lies and a truth: “These metal shoes are made for more than moonwalking”, “I’m not one for revenge but I’ll always get payback” and “It was a knockout performance that launched my career.”

More contestants competing in the competition this year are Chandelier, Poodle, Bagpipes, Traffic Cone, Lionfish, Mushroom, Snow Leopard, Firework, Doughnuts, Rockhopper and Panda.
