Dale Winton’s final TV series ‘will still air following his shock death’

TV presenter Dale Winton’s final TV series will still air, it has been reported.

It was announced yesterday that Dale had passed away at the age of 62.

The telly host had a career spanning many decades, hosting shows such as Family Fortunes and In It To Win It.

Arguably his most famous series was Supermarket Sweep, which Dale fronted for a decade between the 90s and early 00s.

More recently, Dale appeared in new Channel 5 show Florida Fly Drive which last aired back in February.

Three episodes are still left in the series, and Channel 5 are said to be planning to air them ‘at an appropriate time’.

A spokesperson for Channel 5 told the Daily Mirror: “We’re very saddened to hear about the passing of Dale Winton yesterday.

“We were thrilled to have Dale on the channel and heartened by the public reaction to his new show. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”

The sad news of Dale’s death was confirmed by his agent on Wednesday, who said the TV star passed away yesterday (Wednesday).

They said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that we can confirm the passing of Dale Winton who died at home earlier today.

“While we know many will share this terrible loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time of grief.”

No further details about the cause of death have been revealed, with police currently treating it as “unexplained” but “not suspicious”.

Meanwhile, tributes have been pouring in from fellow TV stars and fans.

David Walliams said he was “heartbroken”, writing: “Dale was the best company, always outrageous & hilarious. He adored being in show business & loved meeting fans. He devoted his life to making everyone else happy, his friends, the public & his godsons, even though he found it hard to be happy himself. I pray he has found peace.”
