James Buckley wins Great British Celebrity Bake Off special with toilet cake

Who won The Great British Celebrity Bake Off? Week 2 (March 17) spoiler

The second episode of The Great British Celebrity Bake Off aired tonight with James Buckley crowned star baker.

The Great British Bake Off is back with five episodes for Stand Up To Cancer, continuing with episode 2 this evening (March 17) at 8PM on Channel 4.

In each episode four celebrities join Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding in the tent, aiming to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with their baking skills. Only one celebrity in each episode will be awarded with the coveted star baker apron.

Tonight’s famous faces being ushered into the Bake Off tent by presenters Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding were Oscar winner Richard Dreyfuss, actors Patsy Palmer and James Buckley and TV personality Scarlett Moffatt.

As always, the celebrity bakers took on three challenges set by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

The first challenge for this week’s group was the signature, a classic roulade.

That was followed by a tricky technical task set by Paul who warned the celebs to “read the recipe carefully” as he asked the four-piece to make six cannoli filled with ginger and cream. James came out on top, much to his surprise.

For the showstopper challenge, the celebs were instructed to make their favourite place in the form of a two-tier cake.

Scarlett’s cake was herself on a sofa, Richard created a volcano cake, Patsy’s showstopper was themed on her garden while James made a toilet cake.

After making their deliberations, it was James who was awarded the Star Baker apron by Prue and Paul.

The bakers are standing up to the challenges, and to cancer, and inspiring viewers to do the same.
