The Voice UK 2019 wild card act has been revealed in tonight’s live semi-final.
In a new twist for this year, viewers had the chance to vote for a wildcard act in a new ‘Lifeline’ twist.
Last weekend saw the end of the knockout rounds as eight acts were sent through to the live shows – but 16 were eliminated.
But one lucky contestant has been given a second chance after fans were given the opportunity to vote them through to this week’s semi-final.
In tonight’s live show on ITV, it was confirmed that Bethzienna Williams had been voted as the wild card act.
28-year-old musician Bethzienna from Barry rejoins the show as a member of Team Tom alongside 23-year-old from Liverpool Deana Walmsley and Cedric Neal, a 43-year-old Musical Theatre actor from Brighton.
Also in the live shows are Team Will’s Nxt Gen, a trio made up of Cian, Sonny and Joel, all aged 21 and Emmanuel Smith, a 29-year-old part time motivational speaker from London.
Making up Team JHUD for the live shows are 27-year-old singer-songwriter Moya from Jersey and 24-year-old Nicole Dennis from North London.
Finally, on Team Olly, are Jimmy Balito, a 23-year-old singer from Sussex, and 17-year-old Molly Hocking from St Ives in Cornwall.
Sir Tom Jones commented: “The Lifeline is an exciting new addition this year.
“Saying goodbye to people at The Knockouts can be tough, it’s the biggest cut we see in the competition and giving the singers a second shot, from a public vote, means there’s a great opportunity up for grabs.”
The Voice UK live semi-final airs live on ITV.
This weekend will see the final nine contestants sing live for viewer votes and FIVE will be eliminated.
The four remaining finalists will go forward to the grand final next Saturday night where the winner will be crowned. They’ll pick up a record deal with Polydor records.
