The Voice UK 2019: Bukky Oronti surprises coaches with her big voice

Teenager Bukky Oronti impressed The Voice UK 2019 coaches tonight with her blind audition.

The 16-year-old student from London was one of the latest contestants to sing for the panel.

Speaking before her audition, Bukky revealed a love of ice cream and how she had been singing for years in church.

She then headed out on stage to sing for coaches Jennifer Hudson, Olly Murs, Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am.

Bukky’s song choice for the blind audition was Say Something by A Great Big World.

After the performance, Bukky had two spins from Jennifer and Will.i.am.

And there was shock from all of the panel when they found out it was just Bukky on her own.

“It’s just you?! Jennifer reacted. “I thought there was two of you. I thought it was amazing, your voice is unique and different.”

Sir Tom Jones agreed: “I thought it was two people, genuinely. I thought it was two people and they both sound great.”

After both Will and Jennifer made their pitches, it was over to Bukky to make her decision.

She said: “I’ve made my decision. It’s a really hard decision… Jennifer, I choose you!”

Another act hoping to make it through The Voice UK this weekend were three piece called The Flat Pack. Duncan, Jamie and Nathan are three best friends from Brighton who work painting and decorating jobs together and share a love of singing.
