The Cry is a four-part psychological thriller written by Jacquelin Perske, adapted from the novel by Helen FitzGerald
Joanna and her husband Alistair travel with their baby from Scotland to Australia to see Alistair’s mother, Elizabeth and to fight for custody of Alistair’s daughter Chloe against his Australian ex-wife Alexandra.
However, when they arrive in Australia, Joanna and Alistair are forced to face an unthinkable tragedy that changes their lives and their marriage forever. It is the catalyst for a journey into the disintegrating psychology of a young woman, exposing the myths and truths of motherhood.
The Cry concludes tonight at 9PM on BBC One.
