Strictly Come Dancing results and spoilers: Ashley Roberts gets top marks but who will go?

Here’s a spoiler-filled recap of tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing 2018 ahead of the latest results.

Tonight Strictly hit Week 9 of the competition and for one week only, the show packed its sparkly suitcases and relocated to Blackpool.

The main show kicked off with a grand group performance fit to fill the massive Tower ballroom.

The stakes were high as the celebrities and their professional partners were feeling the pressure as the Glitter Ball trophy is in sight and the Grand Final now only a month away.

Once again deciding who was on top form this evening were judges Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, who scored the ten remaining celebrity couples.

It was Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev who topped the scoreboard after a Jive to Shake Ya Tail Feather by The Blues Brothers. They scored the best marks of the series yet, topping the leaderboard with the first ever perfect 40 points this year.

She pipped a trio of her rivals to the top spot as Faye Tozer, Charles Venn and Joe Sugg all had to settle for a joint second placing with 38 points apiece.

Charles’ Samba received glowing reviews, Shirley described Faye’s Paso as “brilliant” and Darcey told Joe his Quickstep was a “grand performance”.

Behind them, Stacey Dooley went one mark better than last week to score 33 points for her Salsa which she opened the show with, while Graeme Swann’s Theatre and Jazz routine saw him receive 32 points.

At the other end of the leaderboard, Lauren Steadman found her Argentine tango picked apart by the judges as she landed a distant bottom of the scores with 25 points.

Joining her in the bottom two based on the judges’ scores was Kate Silverton, who matched her 30 points from last weekend with the American Smooth.

As always, the judges’ scores will be combined with the viewer vote to determine the overall scoreboard for the weekend.

The two celebrity couples in the bottom two of the overall rankings will find themselves having to dance again in tomorrow night’s (Sunday) latest results show.
