Strictly Come Dancing pro AJ Pritchard hopes to dance with this soap star

Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard has revealed his hopes for his next celebrity partner.

AJ has been confirmed to return to Strictly this year as one of the pro dancers.

And although the new series is already some way off, he has his eyes set on the perfect celebrity partner.

AJ has revealed he’d love to share the ballroom with Coronation Street actress Lucy Fallon.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: “I think partners for myself – one that looks really good, correct height, has to go off height because I’m a small guy, it’s simple – Lucy Fallon.

“She’s a great partner, she’s right height.

“I saw her at a party, she can move – that’s always a help.”

AJ also named another famous face he hoped to see in the ballroom come the autumn.

He continued: “I think as a celebrity this year that would be fantastic – I do like to see athletes compete on Strictly – is Tom Daley.

“He’d be an awesome contestant.”

Meanwhile, another of Strictly’s pros is just hoping for any partner at all.

Neil Jones has been a pro on the show for a few years now but has yet to dance with a celebrity on the main series.

In an interview with Hello! magazine this week, he said: “It would be really nice to get a partner. It would be great, but we don’t know until a lot later. They have to book all the celebs.

“Either way, I’ve always said, I love working with the show. I started off as a choreographer and assistant choreographer. I’m now a pro. If I get a partner, I get a partner. If not, I just love working with everyone.”

The Strictly professionals on 2019’s line up were confirmed at the start of this month (March).

Alongside AJ and Neil, the male pros are Aljaž Škorjanec, Anton Du Beke, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima and Johannes Radebe. Pasha Kovalev won’t be returning having decided to quit after 8 years.

The women joining them are Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Janette Manrara, Karen Clifton, Katya Jones, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova and Oti Mabuse.

Strictly Come Dancing starts in September on BBC One.
