Strictly Come Dancing judges criticised for ‘unfairly’ marking Jonnie Peacock

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have hit out at the show’s judges for their marking of Jonnie Peacock.

After appearing in the dance off last week, Paralympian Jonnie is the tip to not be given a second chance this Sunday night.

Strictly Come Dancing went to Blackpool for its annual special last night and tonight one celeb will be eliminated.

In Saturday’s live show, Jonnie was left in the bottom two after the judges’ marks.

But some fans of the show think Jonnie, who had his right leg amputated aged 5 after contracting meningitis, has been treated unfairly by the panel.

Following last night’s show, one tweeted: “STOP about Jonnie’s bum… in the training VT he explained why his bum sticks out, its to do with his knee, ankle joints and not having a hip joint.

“Leave it alone now judges, you’re not stupid. #strictly”

A second agreed: “I really hope someone at @bbcstrictly speaks to the judges about this. It’s appalling and they should apologise.”

Another viewer described Jonnie as a “total inspiration” and added: “The judges need to stop giving him a hard time and going on about his bum sticking out when there are others who are doing much worse! #rantover!”

Jonnie’s pro partner Oti Mabuse‏ also spoke up.

After Jonnie was criticised for not dancing on the balls of his feet and keeping his bum in, Oti responded: “No it’s not physically possible… can’t dance on something you don’t have ?but he’s still trying his best despite that ???

As always, the judges’ scores will be combined with the viewer vote to determine the bottom two in the dance off in tonight’s results.

Those celebrity couples will have to dance again before the judges alone decide who stays.

Strictly Come Dancing 2017 is back on Sunday night at 7:15PM on BBC One.
