Latest Strictly Come Dancing 2019 results - October 20

The latest celebrity has left Strictly Come Dancing 2019 in Sunday’s results.

At the weekend Strictly Come Dancing’s celebrity dancers and their professional partners once again each took to the dancefloor to impress the viewers at home – as well as the special line up of judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and guest judge Alfonso Ribeiro in the studio.

David James and Mike Bushell had to dance again and it was David James who was voted off Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.

In last night’s Strictly Come Dancing results, the judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes to decide the lowest scoring two couples facing the dance off.

This week that was and David James and his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova and Mike Bushell and his partner Katya Jones.

Both couples performed their routines again, David and Nadiya performed their Jive to Such a Night by Michael Bublé and Mike and Katya performed their Salsa to Jump On It to The Sugar Hill Gang in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts and it was a unanimous decision.

Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Mike and Katya: “Well for me both couples were pretty much technically equal but the couple who I’d like to save were the most confident performers and that was Mike And Katya.”

Motsi Mabuse chose to save Mike and Katya: “Well I felt that one couple gave me a better performance than I saw the first time so I’m going to save Mike and Katya.”

Alfonso Ribeiro chose to save Mike and Katya: “The couple who I’m going to save put on a great show.

“The technique wasn’t there but they came out and delivered a showstopper for the audience to love so I’m going to save Mike And Katya.”

Although her casting vote was not needed, Head Judge Shirley Ballas said she would have also chosen to save Mike and Katya

After saying goodbye, David said: “Oh I’ve loved it. I feel so bad I’ve let Nadiya down in a sense. I’ve enjoyed it but I’ve put some weight on though.”

When asked about his highlights David added: “Having the best partner and the guys up there. Everyone’s lovely. Just a word to Will: I think I work hard, but, man, that guy puts a shift in.”

Nadiya was asked if she had any words for David, saying: “He’s done so well. I’m so proud of you.

“From the first day he couldn’t lift his elbows up or stand straight and now he’s delivered such an amazing jive. I’m so proud.”

Sunday’s Results show opened with a group performance and singer Mabel performing her sit single Don’t Call Me Up with professional dancers Dianne, Nancy, AJ and Gorka.

David and Nadiya will appear live on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two on the sofa with Rylan Clark-Neal for their first interview live on Monday 21st October from 6.30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

Meanwhile, the remaining eleven couples will take to the dancefloor next week for a Halloween special.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 26th October at 6.35pm with the results show on Sunday 27th October at 7.15pm.
