Another celebrity left Strictly Come Dancing 2018 in tonight’s results but who was eliminated?
This weekend the five couples dance once more to impress the viewers at home as well as judges Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood.
Saturday night saw all celebs and their pro partners performing twice for the first time this series.
In Sunday night’s results, the total marks from the judges for the latest dances were combined with the results of the viewer vote.
Who left Strictly Come Dancing 2018 this week?
Those in the bottom were Lauren Steadman and her professional partner AJ Pritchard and Ashley Roberts and her professional partner Pasha Kovalev.
It was the third time in the dance off for Ashley in as many weeks but it was Lauren Steadman who left Strictly Come Dancing 2018 this week.
In the dance off on Sunday, both couples performed one of their two routines again.
Ashley and Pasha chose to perform their American Smooth to Ain’t That A Kick In The Head by Dean Martin, and Lauren and AJ performed their Tango to Nutbush City Limits by Tina Turner.
The judges then chose who to save and it was a unanimous decision.
Strictly Come Dancing 2018 results
Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Ashley and Pasha: “Well one couple for me were clean, precise and dynamic. And that couple? Ashley and Pasha.”
Darcey Bussell chose to save Ashley and Pasha: “It’s really hard because you’ve worked so hard and you’ve got so far to the semi-finals, fabulous. But on a more finished performance, the couple I would like to save is Ashley and Pasha.”
Bruno Tonioli also chose to save Ashley and Pasha: “Well first I would like to say that all of you should be very very proud of what you have accomplished so far, you really did very very well. I have to choose a dance that is more accomplished overall so I will go for Ashley and Pasha.”
Head Judge Shirley Ballas said she agreed with her fellow judges and would have saved Ashley and Pasha.
Therefore it was Lauren and AJ who bowed out of the competition.
Speaking after her exit, Lauren said: “I have absolutely loved my Strictly journey and it has been so much more than anyone ever tells you it’s going to be and that you thought it would be. Down to the smallest things; I mean outfits, hair, makeup, this man (AJ), the judges, all the choreographers. It’s just… I can’t tell you just how magical it is.”
AJ was asked if he had any words for Lauren, he said: “Lauren has been fantastic. Honestly at the beginning of the series I couldn’t have expected to make the semi-final which was just beautiful but honestly I’m so proud of you as a person.
“You have changed so many people’s opinions and it has always been about ability not disability. You have attacked everything, you have always been stubborn, you have always been ‘I will be able to get this lift’ even though it’s not going to work but we’ll get there somehow by Friday and Saturday. But for me honestly it’s been a fantastic journey and you’ve done yourself proud.”
Lauren then went on to say: “I think it goes without saying that for you AJ everybody can think you’re an amazing dancer and sometimes you’re a bit hard on the outside but you’re so squishy and marshmallow like on the inside.
“I’ve got a lot of resilience and determination but I’ve never met somebody quite like you. as a pair I didn’t think we would be partnered and I’m so grateful I got you as a partner, words can’t explain how much I appreciate it.”
The remaining four couples will return for the last time when Strictly Come Dancing is back next week for the Grand Final. Each couple will perform three dances and Tess and Claudia will announce which couple will be crowned Strictly Come Dancing champions 2018.
